Initially, I wanted to delete the user’s project after a confirmation modal. However, my team informed me upon ‘deletion’ of a project, we hold the project’s assets for 30 days. Therefore, it’s technically not ‘deleted’ yet. To solve for this, I designed a section for ‘Deleted Projects’ to get those projects out of the user’s main workspace. In addition to this, I figured, why not just own the entire idea and allow the user to restore the project as well?
I wanted to create a projects area where the user could organize and prioritize their photo products. I also wanted to introduce the ability to delete unwanted projects and provide clarity to what products have already been purchased.
Amazon Prints is the area on the Amazon website in which users are able to create personalized photo products. The intention of this assignment was to help users navigate projects they have started, purchased or deleted.
This project was interesting and challenging for me because there was a short development timeline due to the push right before the holidays. Working together, the PM, the developers and myself had to prioritize what was most important for this area of the site and find a solution to satisfy the stakeholders and the customer.
