Now, here’s where the story gets good.

After graduation, a personal and professional goal of mine was to relocate to a design capital. After three months of freelance work and babysitting, I packed nine suitcases and moved to San Francisco, California with my best friend.

Almost Heaven, West Virginia.

‘Everything is going to be okay, and if it’s not, you can just return home and we’ll figure it out.’

I will always be grateful for my dad in this moment, since the week prior to my flight to California, he told me that I had fallen off my rocker.

Moving across the country seems really cool, until you’re flying over the Sierra Nevada Mountains having a stage five panic attack because you have no money, no job and no place to live. Fortunately, my dad was with us and provided us with some fatherly advice,

After a long red-eye, we landed in San Francisco, and lugged all nine of our suitcases onto BART. When we arrived to the city, we quickly dropped off our luggage at the hotel and started our apartment search. We eventually found a small apartment on 47th and Geary, the last street before the Pacific Ocean. For weeks, my roommate and I mooched off coffee shop WiFi, desperately searching for jobs. Finally, after a couple weeks, we were both employed and had upgraded our kitchen cabinet from Top Ramen to Annie’s Shells White Cheddar.

It has truly been a journey thus far, for my story is still being written.

Later on, I attended West Virginia University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

That’s where my story begins. I was raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, a small town where I was inspired by beautiful colors, nature and people.
